The YouGov poll gives only a 5 point lead to the Tories, seriously closing the gap. Labour up 3 and tories down 1. The ComRes poll has a widening Tory lead of 11 points, but with Labour up 1 point, and the Tories doing better at the expense of the Lib Dems.

Brown has halved that tory lead. His brilliant speech has given us a 7 point boost according to a YouGov poll. 39% of people wanted Brown to remain PM - up 10 points.

Emily Thornberry (Islington South) - made a name for herself as an independent thinker
Jon Cruddas (Daggenham) - won the arguments but lost the contest.
David Chaytor (Bury North) - a passionate advocate for the comprehensive ideal in education.
Rosie Cooper (West Lancs) - solid, local campaigner.
