Gordon Brown has ruled out the possibility of his taking part in a US style televised debate with David Cameron and Nick Clegg in the run up to the next General Election.

Following the launch of the pamphlet Machines, markets and morals: the new politics of a democratic NHS we can announce a major debate in the House of Commons at 6pm on Thursday 28 February with Compass Chair Neal Lawson, Professor Julian Le Grand, UNISON's Head of Health Karen Jennings, Anna Coote from the Healthcare Commission and chaired by The Observer's Mary Riddell.

Cabinet opposition to Iraq?

As many may have seen today, Harman has denied the comments she made about Iraq on the Newsnight Debate. I think like many people, in that Harman made these comments for support in the contest. Is there an element of truth in that she had doubts about going to war? And, just out of curiosity, who were the cabinet members hostile to going to war at the time (other than Cook or Short)?
