Well that's certainly one way of looking at the story below. As the third from end paragraph notes, this reflects the allocation from public funds of 'short money' - something which I believe it to be spent on, ahem, policy development...

Yet again the Royal family take advantage of the British taxpayer. Prince Andrew's daughters Beatrice and Eugenie are protected at a combined cost of £500,000 a year by Scotland Yard Protection officers. Scotland Yard is said to believe this is a waste of money.
