Goodbye to Ruth Kelly who managed to never fully support gay rights despite being the "Minister for Gays"

Having spoken to various people, this is what I believe really happened...

I RARELY write as a transport minister on transport issues; this is a personal political blog. However, one of my regular readers has suggested I respond to John Redwood’s piece about transport on his blog, and for once, I’m more than willing to do so.

Just returned from Manchester where the good media of the PM's speech was destroyed by the idiotic spin operation around Gordon Brown.

The BBC is reporting that Ruth Kelly has told the prime minister that she plans to step down from government at the next re-shuffle, which is expected in the next couple of weeks.

16 MPs (and 1 candidate) have produced short Google videos entitled "Someplace's Labour MP talking about Gordon Brown". All shot in parliament, by the same camera team no doubt. A good idea by some bright spark, but more originality is perhaps called for.

This  was   in yesterday's  Daily Mirror. AMICUS today launched a  campaign against this draconian  proposal.
