However painful it might be to accept, one thing is clear; Labour is currently so unpopular that no single course of action can ensure it's success at the next election. One thing can, however, guarantee it's defeat and that is leaving Gordon Brown at the helm.

Most people picked up on the Heathcliff comment (said in jest I believe!) and ignored the message that he is sticking around.

You've challenged Gordon Brown for the leadership and won :), and you go to the palace, and are invited by the Queen to form a government. What would you do as PM?

It's June 27th 2007. The Prime Minister has resigned. You are sent in an official car to the palace, and asked to form the next government. You return to Downing Street. You give a statement to the press. A security briefing follows, and you get the launch code. Presidents and Prime Ministers phone. You conduct a cabinet reshuffle. What would you do in the next 100 days?

The Daily Politics is running a poll to find out which peace-time PM people rate the highest.

Currently Margaret Thatcher is way ahead with 65% of the vote.  Clement Attlee is 2nd with 19% and Tony Blair is 3rd with 7% and Harold Wilson 4th with 4% of the vote.  A fair reflection?  The poll closes in Easter.
