NEC elections - I am standing
Dear Colleagues
I am been pursuaded to seek nominations in the next three months for the NEC of the labour party. I have had various positions within the party. I am committed to the grassroots and trade union movement. I also want the party to rengage with the electorate as well as its members. We have a new leader of the party and we must pursaude him to follow traditional Labour party values. We must follow a more trade union friendly agenda, after all they established the party with other affliliates. I call for democratic change and more accountability within the party. I call for a withdrawl from Iraq, a return to a publically run NHS and schools and the full implementation of the social chapter and Warwick Agreement. I also am looking at climate change and the temporary workers directive as issues.
With Regards

LRC Merseyside Launch & Bob disappointment
Dear Comrades
Last week was the launch of the Merseyside LRC. The meeting was quite positive and shows that the left is still strong within the party. John McDonnell gave a good speech. The one diappointing note was that we heard that Bob Wareing will stand as an independant. I can't support him and I feel he is making a mistake standing, but he was treated harshly. Anyway to the future and I feel there is a bright one for the left.
