BAME Labour is born

Black Socialist Society Special Conference - 24 November

The Black Socialist Society Special Conference 2007 will be held in Manchester College of Arts and Technology, Ashton Old Road, Manchester, M11 2WH on Saturday 24 November 2007. The Black Socialist Society has decided to consult the membership on changing its name. The 5 options are:

- BAME Labour
- BAME Socialist Society
- Black and Asian Socialist Society
- Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Society
- Black Socialist Society

Monday: Black Socialist Society Deputy Leadership Hustings

A full house of BSS members and representatives from over 30 grass roots organisations, including the UK’s biggest trade unions, faith organisations and Black, Asian and minority ethnic pressure groups, are expected at the event in Westminster on Monday 21 May.  All six deputy leadership contenders - Jon Cruddas, Harriet Harman, Hazel Blears, Alan Johnson, Peter Hain and Hilary Benn will address the hustings.
