Hopi Sen Rips Apart Cameron Spending Plans

Hopi Sen is in my view one of the top Labour bloggers out there and a proper big brain.  Today he effortlessly unpicks David Cameron's spending commitments.

I don't know what Hopi's doing these days, but I bet he's wasted.

Agreed, Hopi provides the kind of clear and incisive demolition of Tory policy that seems lacking from the Party at the moment. His blog is an excellent read and I hope someone at HQ takes note or puts him back on staff so we can start to turn things around.

That's very kind of you both... I'm flattered!

Just wanted to say that it's a lot easier writing a blog where you can just say what comes in your head than writing a policy paper or press release for the party. You don't have to clear anything, or check your facts, or make sure that x number of ministers are OK with it, or anything.

Being a policy, press or comms person for the party is a great job, but it's a hard slog.. they're incredibly stretched. You go from election to election with barely a break. I have it a lot easier!

Well done for exposing the myths of Cameron!

Re: Hopi Sen Rips Apart Cameron Spending Plans (#3)

We always know how the Tories are going to do this, by cuts, but you have to ask is how Labour is going to do this with Taxation hitting the roof, Labour has problems finding more tax it will not attack the rich, it cannot now hit the poor, it cannot go green because the people know or think they know it's a con.

So really both parties are in trouble, I just think it will be easier for the Tories.

I don't actually see what he debunks here, sorry Hopi, but it just seems like a lot of mockery at the moment, I'll try reading it a bit more, but I really can't see it.
