London Results

The BBC and pretty much everywhere seems to be useless on getting London results out.  However the Labour Representation Committee is doing well, as is Union Futures.  They seem to be your best places for following the results.

Re: London Results (#1)

Recommend you the trouble:

Boris: 1st Pref 1,043,761 2nd Pref 124,977 Total 1,168,738

Ken: 1st Pref 893,877 2nd Pref 135,089 Total 1,028,966

Boris is the mayor, completing the rout.

Re: London Results (#2)

I'll tell you a real worry in the future, Labour fights might not be with the Tories in the future, but with the Lib Dem's to see who is second and who is third place.

I think New Labour will have  a fight to even keep second place from now on, because the people who once voted Labour because it was Labour, do not see new Labour as a party for them.

New Labour took a third way, it's now blown up, will telling people it's learned a lesson mean people will accept this, I doubt it I have lost interest in the plans and idea of New Labour, to night Ruth Kelly tried to say this is all down to the down turn in the global market, well she would.

Re: London Results (#3)

treborc, what a load of rubbish. The Lib Dems got creamed last night in London losing 2 GLA seats and reduced to third, fourth and fifth places in some constituencies, behind fringe parties.

Labour meanwhile got more votes than last time and actually increased its share of the vote in many places, plus WON one seat.

The Lib Dems are increasingly irrelevant and the battle remains between Labour and the "new" Cameron tories for the centre ground.

Re: London Results (#4)

So the Libdems getting 25% of the votes vs Labour's 24% is a victory for Labour?

The job of spinmesiter for the Labour Party beckons. Your talents are wasted here. Perhaps you next post will be to tell us that black is white?

May I suggest you get some sleep ,read the results carefully, read carefully what people are posting - real people  that is- not wonks like us - and then reread what you have said.
