Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#1)

No. 4 in the West Midlands is Anthony Painter not Anthony Edwards.

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#2)

Is the North East the only region not to have allowed members to choose which order to rank candidates?

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#4)

is it because there're just 3 seats (so 3 candidates) with 1 incumbent and the zip lists requirement (and so it should have been incumbent man+woman+man anyway)?

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#6)

Yes I think that is it Andrea. Goodness knows who selects who the candidates are though. Is it the regional board?

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#3)

When was the ballot on this?

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#5)

If you followed the same system as the West Midlands, your CLP should have gone through an affirmative nomination procedure for any sitting MEP's, then you should have had three ballot papers at the beginning of March - one to rank the sitting MEP's (if there was more than one), one to rank the male candidates and one to rank the female candidates.

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#7)

I have to say I'm dismayed at the London line up.  To think we're going to lose hard working Robert Evans and continue to be saddled with Mary Honey ball!

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#8)

Only two BME candidates have a real chance of being elected.

Re: 2009 Euro Elections candidates (#9)

Nice list. Wait and see who is going to select.
