The Sun backs Boris!

I am sick to the back teeth with how anyone could back a racist, bigoted, homophobic toff for mayor.....a person that has made a career out of acting the clown!

I can only hope, that if he does win (which i still doubt, and it will make the SUN look very foolish) that he makes a fool of himself and the tory party (of which, he would be the second highest profile figure). Ken, throw the kitchen sink at him - he compared homosexuality to bestiality, he deserves no quarter.

It shows how Murdoch has abandoned new labour - I think it is about time Labour abandoned Murdoch. If anyone close to brown is reading - now is the time to start carving up his business empire. Get the EU to investigate monopolistic practices in News Corp and just watch Murdoch beg for Brown's favour again.

Prime Minister, you have virtually unchecked executive power - make this aussie squirm!

Re: The Sun backs Boris! (#1)

Brown needs to take on Murdoch about media neutrality laws. Cameron wants to revoke them. If Murdoch is backing the Tories, then Brown must announce that he, unlike Cameron, will not be Murdoch's schill. He would make Cameron look like a fool.

Re: The Sun backs Boris! (#2)

Yep, I agree. If Murdoch gives up on us then we have nothing to lose by turning on him.

Re: The Sun backs Boris! (#3)

If the EU do what they have done to Microsoft it'll provide some nice extra funds for European aid etc.

Re: The Sun backs Boris! (#4)

'Sun sets on Johnsons Mayoral bid'. We all hope.

Re: The Sun backs Boris! (#7)

Unfortunately, it didn't turn out the way we all hoped. It was pretty dirty campaigning from the Tories and Lynton Crosby, assisted by our own Martin Bright of the NS and Gilligan of the Evening Standard. Ken was subjected to vicious personal attacks; a lot of private details of his unconventional life exposed. The trouble is you can't expect people to dissociate your politics from your private life. I'm amazed that politicians still think they can keep the two separate and get away with it. It doesn't work that way. The dirt stuck to Ken but it slid off Johnson because the Media loved him.

Re: The Sun backs Boris! (#5)

I've always hated that odious rag.

I wondered whether I would feel the same if it backed Labour. Well it did, and I then saw it as an odious opportunist rag. "It's the Sun wot spun it." No, you just sheepishly followed the rest of the country
