Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#1)

Apparently she was telephoned by Harman (and others) and told in no uncertain terms that attending an event with Johnson wold be completely unacceptable.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#2)

she is a complete disgrace, why she has not been given the boot ages ago is a mystery.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#3)

Labour would be better off without her.

Kate Hoey - if you're reading this, then feel free to leave, we won't miss you.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#5)

I doubt Foxes would agree.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#6)

I suspect foxes are the least surprised at Hoey's behaviour to be honest! After all - isn't BJ a hunting supporter - though the desire for the the chasing of Charlie through the streets of Kensington has a rather different connotation these days!

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#7)

Why can't Hoey's CLP grow a backbone and de-select her?

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#8)

Because we want her to remain as our representative - she was reselected by all ward labour parties in Vauxhall CLP last year because she is a very good local MP active in the constituency and always willing to take up constituents' cases many of which are highly complex.

Much of the casework is highly complex requiring much time and requiring contact with several different agencies - remember this is constituency is one of the poorest in the UK where over 50% of the population live in social housing of some sort. It has higher than average levels of unemployment, crime etc and often factors such as immigration operating which all make the casework complicated and require dedication which is what Hoey offers.

We in the constituency party accept some, shall we say, unorthodox labour views in return for the commitment she gives to the people of the constituency.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#9)

(Speaking personally there  as a reasonably active member of Vauxhall CLP - just my personal views, I dont know what the feeling of the other members of Vauxhall GC is)

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#10)

Hoey is a total disgrace, Vauxhall CLP should be ashamed that they back this Tory stooge.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#11)

Telegraph says Kate Hoey issued a statement praising Boris Johnson, even though she skipped the meeting:

It is against Labour rules to endorse opposition candidates, but a party spokesman said Miss Hoey would face no disciplinary action. Labour chiefs insisted they were "relaxed" about her praise for Mr Johnson.

Weren't ordinary members expelled for praising an independent in Blaenau?

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#12)

But those members in Blaenau Gwent were endorsing Old Labour values (a heinous crime)e, something that the leadership thinks poses more of a threat than the bizarre views of Kate Hoey.

Re: Kate Hoey and Boris??? (#13)

But isnt this a sign that the party learnt from Blaenau Gwent and has realised that its better to keep people within the party than out?

I'm sure Hoey supports overall 90%+ of Labour's policies and it would quickly become clear that her thoughts are in conflict with the Tory Party in many ways
