First, the 'Police, Cameron. Action' announcement last week, coming immediately after Cabinet discussion and impending moves on the same... (Nick Robinson refered to this on the Politics Show last week)

Now, David Davis claiming he wrote to the PM on the bugging back in December...






So which official is actively helping the Tory agenda?

Looks like the David Davis' info didn't come from Met/Home Office, but the MP for the police officer who is being prosecuted: "It is understood that Mr Davis’s letter was prompted by the police officer’s approach to a fellow MP." The retired police officer is facing charges this month of "misconduct in a public office": "He is alleged to have made a number of allegations about the bugging practices of the police." Seems this started from a retired police officer.
