Drudge destroys Hillary to destroy Obama in November

In a clever ploy Matt Drudge seems to have shifted blame for a photograph of Obama in Somali dress to Hillary Clinton's campaign team. Reading the language on Drudge, he never actually suggest that it was leaked to him. ...

"Wouldn't we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?" questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

Notice the word obtained - meaning he could have got hold of an email between any of HRC's campaign staff. This is a photo already in the public domain.

Obama's people treat this as a slur from Hillary.

But the point is, this is just a trap. Republicans like Drudge, and others in the Media, are setting up Obama to be the Democratic nominee in order that McCain wins in November. What worries me about Obama is his inability to take ANY criticism on the chin... any criticism seems to be turned into a race issue.

We already saw John Kerry, the Vietnam Vet, destroyed by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth in 2004. How can Obama stand that level of scrutiny?



Look at the language carefully... its a ploy Drudge which has worked perfectly. Do you agree?

There is one small problem with this analysis - all the polling shows that McCain beats Hillary far more easily than he beats Obama head-to-head.

Drudge probably went with the story because it is a great "water-cooler" story.  Something that people will talk about.

Sure Guido, I realise that. But that's because I don't think the Republican big guns have yet trained their sights on Obama. Whilst all Hillary (and Bill's) past and dirt is failry public - Whitewater, Vince Forster, 'Cattle' futures etc.... not really so for Obama yet. those polls would change.

Listening to Radio 4 during the night, I heard even they changed the way the introduced the item, no longer saying it had been sent by the Clinton team.

The Swift Vote Veterans for Turth brigade are holding back... and I think that if the Obama campaign can't handle any type of real criticism at this stage, even more so when it is deliberately targeted against them.

Bob Perry, the main funder of SBVFT, donated US$5 million to the Economic Freedom Fund (think Midlands Industial Council) which is a 527 group.... as long as the cash flows then we can expect it to get very ugly, and all the dirt to come out.

I am not saying he could not still win - such is the groundswell of support - but its going to get very ugly, and I dont think he will still look like St Obama at the end of it.

The problem with this argument is that it is commonly accepted that if there were any skeletons in Obama's cupboard they would have been revealed by the Clinton campaign by now, so it's a safe assumption that there's nothing out there that we don't already know.

Secondly, I'm not sure where this line about Obama not being able to handle criticism comes from.  He's responded to most attacks very effectively, blunting and negating them.  Whilst the people from SBVFT might be donating money to support McCain, they have zero credibility left in the US media (possibly with the exception of Fox News Channel) and interestingly more attention is being paid to VoteVets.org a liberal pressure group of Iraq war vets, who are highlighting McCain's support for the war in Iraq.

I'm am completely baffled by your claim that Obama seeks to turn any criticism into a racial issue, as that is the one thing he has not done - which is why he is attracting support from outside the black community.
