Labourhome editor selected in Westminster

Associate Editor of Labourhome.org David Rowntree was last night selected for the parliamentary candidacy in the Cities of London and Westminster.

With me installed as the candidate in Chelsea & Fulham, it looks like Labourhome's plans for world domination are advancing nicely.

Re: Labourhome editor selected in Westminster (#1)

Great news! We all thought Dave R had dropped off the edge of the planet. You know he's been removed from Labour Mpurls. Maybe he should demand to be put back.

Re: Labourhome editor selected in Westminster (#2)

Dear swatantra

Dave's blog was removed belatedly from Membersnet at the request of the CLP in the interests of balance during the selection process.

I say belatedly, because it was not removed immediately the selection process started in Cities of London and Westminster at the end of November last year, when it was know locally that Dave was going to stand.

Personally, I hope that no blog is ever promoted again on Membersnet at the say-so of some party apparatchik.
Nothing personal against Dave. This is about good governance. Or do you think anything goes in the Labour politics?

Re: Labourhome editor selected in Westminster (#3)

That explains Dave's sudden but belated disapperance. But I quite agree Peter. In the interests of fairness no blog or website should be used to flagrantly promote one candidate over the rest. I regret to say that it has even happened on Labourhome! on a number of occasions! If mention is made of one candidate eg for Treasurer or NEC or PPC, then please have the decency to mention the rest, for balance. Or, alternatively, set your own website up.

Re: Labourhome editor selected in Westminster (#4)

Congratulations Dave, you will be an excellent candidate.

Re: Labourhome editor selected in Westminster (#9)

Dear swatantra

Let's see if it's third time lucky...I was working on an old Mac this afternoon running Safari browser software which deleted my previous efforts. Just to say..jolly good fun, but Membersnet is not any blog. It's administered by Labour Party staff whose contracts of employment prohibit the promoting of candidates for internal elections. Well that's the theory....

Chelsea and Kensington (#10)

Alex,

You know you can count on me to walk up and down the Kings Road in support of a good cause. And while we're talking about shopping, I could do it in a 'Hilton 4K&C' tee-shirt and help you at the same time!

Re: Chelsea and Kensington (#11)

C&F! - don't forget the boundary changes!

Re: Chelsea and Kensington (#12)

But is the Kings Road still in there, my man?
