Boris evades the long arm of the media
When Boris Johnson launched his crime manifesto this morning, Jake Morris of the Daily Mirror asked him about the infamous incident when he was taped agreeing to help a friend arrange for the beating of a journalist.
Instead of explaining his role in this appalling event, or apologising for saying he’d provide the information to have a fellow journalist physically attacked, Johnson instead attacked the Mirror for a story that the Guardian have written about his campaign’s shady finances.
The full story is on the Mirror blog here.
Johnson hasn’t been seriously questioned about this incident yet in the campaign (surely the Standard is on the case though?). However, he was asked about it on Have I Got News For You a few years back. That can be watched again here.
