Boris calls for scheme already in action

Boris Johnson has made a bid for a few newspaper headlines today by calling for anti-social bus users to have their oyster cards confiscated.  It’s a good idea.  Which is why Ken already does it.

Boris Johnson’s latest bright idea was unveiled on his BBC interview with Marr this morning.  He called for under-18s who get free transport (despite Tory attempts to remove the scheme) to have their cards removed if they act anti-socially

It’s not a bad idea.  Which is why Ken has already brought it in.  Anybody who is cautioned by the police, or in fact convicted of a crime, has their card taken away permanently.  TfL also removes cards from people who’s actions aren’t criminal but are deemed anti-social.

Johnson is either trying to claim the idea of removing cards from people misbehaving as his own, or he simple didn’t bother to check out the facts before coming out his ‘plan’.

Interesting that Ken has already gone for this idea. As I was listening to Boris, my thought was if these under-18s were that anti-social, they would simply bully someone else to give them their free Oyster card - so maybe this was a bad idea.

A tip for anyone helping Ken's campaign, stop referring to Johnson as "Boris".  It just plays into his "cheejy chappy" hands and keeps him recognisable, just as "ken "is to everyone in the capital.  Personally I always prefer calling him his  full name, De Pfeffel and all.  Just a thought but it's just struck me that Ken's supporters continuing to refer to the man as "Boris" we are treating him as harmless.  When did you last hear Andrew Gilligan call Ken Livingstone "Ken"?

Well I hope people are pulling him up on it then, rather than it just being commented on by a few people on here!
