NEW POLL Should we have Afternoon Tea with David Miliband !!??

We have been most courteously invited by our CLP  to attend afternoon tea  with David ( Dai the Minister) Miliband and Lord Neil Kinnock A snip at £35 for a spoonful of lavabread and a few Welshcakes I'm sure. Is this more evidence of the deliberate succession plan I posted previously or just coincidence?

Yes. (#1)

If you really care then go along. For £35 you get direct access to make your points and to look him the eyes when he replies to you. You will be able to make a much better judgement of the man after you have met him in person.

I was at a local election count in May 2007 and I noticed my MP there. He was looking fairly relaxed and I struck up a conversation with him which lasted for about an hour. On the basis of that hour I reckon that he is probably an OK bloke.

I met Beverly Hughes and Paul Goggins once and whilst neither impressed me, I found Ms Hughes ill-mannered, rude and arrogant. Her departure from govt did not surprise me and I cheered when I heard she had gone. Goggins seemed lackluster but maybe in the absence of Hughes's sparkling personality he would would come across better. She did not seem to like others doing the talking.

Go and assess Miliband in person.

Re: Yes. (#2)

Neil Kinnock is a really nice bloke to talk to as well. Very genuine and down to earth.  Leastways he was the few times I talked to him in the 80's.  What being a Lord and troughing at Brussels may have done in the meantime I don't know.

Re: Yes. (#3)

I'd say it's evidence of fundraising by your CLP. Get your wallet out!

Re: Yes. (#4)

And don't forget the £1 obligatory LP raffle!

Re: Yes. (#5)

If the money's going to your CLP, then Yes - you should go...

If it's not going to your CLP then ask where it is going first!
