Have we missed an opportunity in the re-shuffle?

All I can see from the reshuffle is a a further move to the right, so that means an end to Warwick II (in reality) and probably, without Cruddas, and other left wingers,  a balanced cabinet for a crisis.

Seems things don't change!

Re: Have we missed an opportunity? (#1)

It means Gordon reckons, rightly or wrongly, that to win the next election he has to revert to Tony’s formula. It may work (though in the current climate of recession leftism might have some purchase, but surely Gordon would hope recession won’t last until 2010).

Then Campbell should brought in too  :  given a peerage and made a minister of information. He’ll again handle the Murdoch press deftly; and the Tories, while protesting spin, will actually tremble in their boots?!

Re: Have we missed an opportunity? (#2)

The new cabinet seems bizzare. The frightful Mandy back in the cabinet - what a joke. He should have stayed in the Communist Party, at least then he wouldn't have inflicted damage on actual politics. Same goes for John Reid (but thankfully he is long gone).

This concept that making Trickett Brown's PPS somehow makes it a balanced 'broad church' cabinet is laughable. The PPS to the PM may be the most important PPS is the business, but still...hardly Home Secretary is he? And obviously not part of the cabinet! I still think this has a lot to do with him falling out with Compass anyway.

I want to know why he didn't sack arsewhipes like Hutton. He should be deselcted, not encouraged.

Re: Have we missed an opportunity? (#3)

And now Campbell is officially back, albeit as an adviser!
