"Lord Adonis - Department for Transport"

Could this REALLY be true?!!?!?  There'll be champagne in my house if this move from the DCSF to the DoT is confirmed!

Very pleases about Sion Simon and extra pleased Shahid Malik is Justice Minister.  Only 4 years ago a jealous and bitter MEP (desperate to be an MP) schreeched to me, "You listen to me, *****, Shahid will never be an MP, NEVER BE AN MP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Now, Shahid is on his second, high profile and significant government post.

Excellent news and fingers up to all of those jealous people who tried so hard to stop him getting into parliament.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#8)

Adonis’ shift may mean slowdown on the vexed Academies; or some sinister government-subsidised privatisation initiative in the transport sector?

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#2)

PA is running the story that Kim Howells has been fired from the Foreign Office - I'm sorry to hear that.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#5)

I'm not.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#9)

Whenver that his is metnioned I think of him posing in that photo with the Colombian Army. Good ridance to slimy turds I say.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#10)

oh dear typos.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#3)

Economic secretary Kitty Ussher switches to the Department for Work and Pensions and is replaced by Ian Pearson, who will also take up a role in the business ministry.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#4)

Malcolm Wicks loses his job as a Minister but becomes special envoy to the PM on Energy issues.

Mike O'Brien and Lord Hunt of Kings Heath have been given ministerial posts in the new energy and climate change department.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#6)

Looks like Cruddas is playing hard to get; serves him right ending up with nothing. Mandelson's 'transgressions' are forgivable; Blunketts are not.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#7)

Back off, Cruddas.  His priority needs to be to keep his seat.  Very wise of him to concentrate on that instead of becoming a "Minister for Paper Clips".

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#11)

True. I would hate for Cruddas to loose his seat. Despite the fact that he is not as lefty as the media like to think, I still like him.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#12)

Gordon has always held the military in contempt. Hence preventing them from buying life-saving equipment (nimrods without foam fuel tanks, snatch landrovers where there are IEDs).  First of all he inflicted on them a part-time Secretary of State.  Now he gives them Quentin Davis who everybody knows only switched from Tory to Labour because he was desperate to be a Minister.

Re: Job for Quentin Davies - nothing for Cruddas (#13)

I think Gordon simply told MOD to live within its budget. It was MOD that prioritised big-ticket new equipment contracts over upgrades and un-sexy stuff like safe vehicles.
