Mark McDonald: A new treasurer

Readers may be aware that I am seeking nominations from CLPs, unions and affiliates for the position of Labour Party treasurer.

A correspondent on a previous Labourhome article suggested I post some details of my experience, so I have drawn together those details below. Please do get in touch if you are willing to support my candidacy or if you would like to ask me any further questions.

Many thanks,

It would be useful for you to put them on a pdf somewhere we can download them e.g your facebook group

Re: Mark McDonald: A new treasurer (#2)

I will support but will have to check the unite nomination, if we are early enough I could give a lot of support (being a shop steward helps), will consult with union.

Re: Mark McDonald: A new treasurer (#3)

An interesting test of Wiseman's influence, especially as the incumbent is deputy general secretary of one side of Unite.

Re: Mark McDonald: A new treasurer (#4)

If Jack stands again, it could cause a problem.  (I am on the unite panel). If nobody from unite comes forward.

Then you have my support and others.

John

Re: Mark McDonald: A new treasurer (#5)

Won't Unite cast it's vote as a block. It's not the DL election where every individual member's vote counts. I think this year the TGWU and AMICUS sections will be voting jointly as the merger is bedding in.

Why don't you contact the National Political Office and let us know.

Re: Mark McDonald: A new treasurer (#6)

How Unite can support "dozy" Dromey as Treasurer after the biggest financial scandals in the party's history is beyond me.

Dromey has been an utterly useless Treasurer.

Vote for McDonald.   We need someone who is awake.
