Stockton North result Gutted

Just heard Barbara Roache did not get Stockton Northand it took a fourth preference result.  I am gutted as she is a good person and is an excellent mentor for younger MPs.

Disappointing for Barbara. But who?

Re: Stockton North result Gutted (#2)

Wiseman - the name of the winning Labour candidate might indeed be usefully published information.  :)

Re: Stockton North result Gutted (#3)

Local councillor and PR consultant Alex Cunningham won the selection contest. I don't have the vote numbers of the order for the candidates or know where Frank Cook came.

Alex's website is www.stockton-north.com.

Re: Stockton North result Gutted (#6)

In the local paper Cunningham says he won by a comfortable margin.

Re: Stockton North result Gutted (#4)

Shame for Barbara, but perhaps being so far away from London didn't help her.  Maybe she could throw her hat into the ring for The Wrekin following Alison Wedgwood's withdrawal?

Re: Stockton North result Gutted (#5)

If Frank cook stood I am even more gutted. I didn't think he was standing

Re: Stockton North result Gutted (#7)

Frank Cook's comments in the local newspaper link suggest that though disappointed, he accepts the result and will remain loyal to the party and won't take his bat and ball away with him after this result. Good for him, and what a contrast to the actions of Bob Wareing in similar circumstances.
