The gay poem that broke blasphemy laws

The Love That Dares To Speak Its Name by James Kirkup has been published at the bottom of an article on PinkNews.co.uk. This is technically still illegal so it shall be interesting to see if the website faces any legal action.

It was published to mark 30 years since Denis Lemon was found guilty of committing libel against Christianity, the last prosecution for blasphemy.

Re: The gay poem that broke blasphemy laws (#1)

The sooner the government gets on with scrapping the silly Blasphemy Laws the better.

Re: The gay poem that broke blasphemy laws (#2)

Does the law only apply to the C of E or all religions? Will all religions be prepared to take a bit of stick?

Re: The gay poem that broke blasphemy laws (#3)

Only applies to the CofE - but obviously any reference to God can be applied to the CofE.

Even most members of the Church want the law scrapped (most notably Former Archbishop of Caterbury Carey) - there's no excuse for the government to delay any longer.
