Foreign office U-Turn?



I just caught the end of this on BBC Parliament.
This was heartening news - much of a volte-face on Blairite policy.  But is it just words and why was Wolfgang not impressed?

The other recent good news is that the Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO) is being disbanded - a 450 civil servant subsidy to the arms industry. Tribune says it's not clear if this is because DESO is too associated with the BAE/Saudi "commissions" scandal, or inefficiency identified by a recent Treasury review.
