Youngest PPC selected in East Worthing and Shoreham

Emily Benn has been selected for East Worthing and Shoreham.

She's 17 years old and she's believed to be the youngest Labour PPC selected. She will be 18 in 2 weeks.
She's Tony Benn's grand-daughter and Hilary's niece.

East Worthing and Shoreham was won by the Tories in 2005 with a 18.4% majority.

Re: Youngest PPC selected (#1)

Don't know whether you picked that up from the Guardian, Andrea, but yesterday they also referenced someone called Hamish Anderson as PPC for Monmouth.

I wasn't aware Monmouth had selected, and can find no other reference on the web - so can anyone confirm whether the Guardian's right, for once - or wrong, as usual?

Re: Youngest PPC selected (#2)

Andrea never reveals his sources.

WELL DONE EMILY!!!!

Re: Youngest PPC selected (#4)

"Andrea never reveals his sources"

erm, maybe it's because I don't have interesting sources...many info are in the publich domain (well, actually finding selected Labour PPCs is not very easy...especially in not Lab held seat) somewhere on some local paper websites or on some hopefuls campaign website....

In this case it's all on almost all mayor papers this morning.

Re: Youngest PPC selected (#3)

According to selection timetables published here on Labourhome, the husting in Monmouth were on 21 September....so at least it's plausible that they have a PPC...

I haven't found any other reference to their candidate apart the Guardian mention...(actually I haven't found any other reference to Hamish Anderson)

Re: Youngest PPC selected (#6)

That would be Hamish Sanderson.

North Devon (#5)

if anyone is interested, Mark Cann has been selected in North Devon. He contested the seat in 2005 too
