MPs pile onto Google video
16 MPs (and 1 candidate) have produced short Google videos entitled "Someplace's Labour MP talking about Gordon Brown". All shot in parliament, by the same camera team no doubt. A good idea by some bright spark, but more originality is perhaps called for.
The list of constituencies is:
Surprisingly Ruth Kelly's video is by far the worst of those I looked at. Ruth, learning your lines before you do a piece to camera really does help! Poor show that the professionals let this take out. Maybe saying nice things about Gordon is just too much!Aberdeen North, Bolton West, Bridgend, Cambridge (candidate), Gillingham and Rainham, Hastings and Rye, North West Leicestershire, Norwich North, Oxford, Portsmouth North, Preston, Sherwood, South Derbyshire, South Dorset, South Thanet, Watford, Wirral
Claire Ward (Watford) and Andrew Smith (Oxford) put on good performances.
Sign of an early election? Probably not, but good practice for a more internet focused campaign perhaps.
Not on Labour's YouTube channel for some reason.
HatTip: Iain Dale and Dizzy Thinks.
UPDATE: Apparently "They were filmed by the PLP Resource Centre, and were put up by them for MPs to use on their websites".
UPDATE2: Unity has done some legwork, and figures at least 9 MPs have used them on their websites, including Ruth Kelly.
