Housebuilders stop renewables measure
Sorry to be a bore and blog twice in the same day, and both times with a green tinge, but I was catching up with my reading over lunch and came across this. Grrr.
Is it just me, or if Labour wants to be taken seriously on the environment shouldn't Ms. Cooper be making it compulsory nationally for solar panels to be incorporated into new house building?
Cost isn't an issue as house prices are high at present so builders can still expect huge profits. Also, if solar panels were compulsory then the price per unit would surely fall.
Coming so soon after the story that the UK isn't going to hit EU renewable targets, the failure to adopt German-style feed in tarrifs for energy supplied to the grid from householders and the strong impression that the government is going to waste millions on going nuclear, our 'green' cred must be at an all time low.
