Re: Cruddas as Labour's backbencher of the year. (#1)

It's a shame we have heard so little from Cruddas since his non-election though. Just what are his thoughts on GB's new direction, and what is he doing to help boost the role of the members that he was so concerned about.

Just because he didn't win, doesn't mean he shouldn't be trying to use the mandate he did get to voice some support for those of us concerned at recent developments...

He was offered some kind of job, but apparently turned it down.

Re: Cruddas as Labour's backbencher of the year. (#3)

Did anyone attend the Compass event on Monday? I imagine he gave a view at that...

It  must  be said  that the Left   as a whole at Westminster  has been remarkably  quiet.I hope that changes  once the summer recess is over. Along with  Brown's  honeymon. At the moment he's  talking stuff up which Blair would have been lambasted for.Morning Star aside, there is absolutely  no media opposition. But, yes, it is  odd that Cruddas has said  nothing.

Re: Labour's backbencher of the year. (#4)

Yes, well done Jon Cruddas.  Well done John McDonnell as well.

Re: Labour's backbencher of the year. (#6)

Jon Cruddas is having a well deserved break.  The man was falt out for over 9 months.  Let him get his breath back!  He was a panellist at the Shelter Housing Debate on Tuesday and I see he's the key note speaker at Compass AGM in September.  When he's regained his energy Jon Cruddas will be an ever greater force to be reckoned with.

Re: Labour's backbencher of the year. (#7)

As actors would say, he's only 'resting'.
