Andrew . . . Who? Victoria . . . . WHO? Warwick Whassizface and Boris the Clown

Mayor Ken Livingstone must be trembling in his seat as the Conservatives unveiled Boff, Borwick, Lightfoot and Boris as their shortlist of candidates to take him on in next year's London Mayoral election. Or is that not trembling, but hysterical laughter!!  Never mind, not content with imposing Labour Donors as Tory candidates, 'Dave C the boy genius' has gone the whole hog, and come up with a new and amazing ruse to give EVERY London Labour Party member, supporter and elector a vote in deciding which one of these esteemed candidates (losers) that Ken should face.

All that remains is for us to decide which one we should all vote for!!

Boff, Borwick, Lightfoot and Boris the clown.  This is the desperate depths to which Cameroon's Cornsurvateeves have sunk.  A Labour donor as one of their by-election candidates and then the choice of three nobodies and a clown for their Mayoral candidate. (Norris didn't get past the panel). What does it say about the desperate state of the Conservatives that they have nobody, nobody and nobody but a clown to run a great global city Like London?

Dave C did ask for our help selecting the Tory candidate. He said "Everyone on an electoral register for a London constituency as of 1st September 2006 will be entitled to vote [for the candidate]. People will be able to vote by phone or by sms text message."

I urge every labour party member and every supporter, and every Labour voter to email all of your friends, and to encourage them to email all of their friends, and ask them to email their friends too.  Lets ALL help Dave C to select the Tory candidate for London Mayor.

Problem is, do we select one of the nobodies, or the clown?

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Tory no-hopers (#1)

Marvellous - a good old fashioned block-vote from Labour supporters!!!  I look forward to seeing what the consensus is, but can I make an early plea for the posh woman from Chelsea, Victoria Borwick?

She is obviously trying to out-clown Boris-the-clown: her web site title being "A red head not red Ken", and she has some wonderfully wacky policies like "Police to patrol singly, not in pairs" which sounds like a thugs charter to me!  Give the muggers a fair chance - vote Victoria!

Re: Tory no-hopers (#2)

I'm all in favour of primaries, but restricted to card carrying members of the respective parties. An open vote would lead to malparactices from other parties.

Re: Tory no-hopers (#3)

er, yes swatantra, I think that is why we all think that Cameron's plans are so hilarious and dim-witted!

Re: Tory no-hopers (#4)

Yes, Victoria "Scrap the congestion charge" Borwick seems an ideal choice. I was particularly amused by her comment:

"I know many of the dealers in the Notting Hill and Portobello areas have complained bitterly about the pollution caused by the buses"

and by her keen like of "Maggie Blue" in the wardrobe for her press photos:

Victoria Borwick  Vicroria Borwick Victoria Borwick

which fits well with her 3 principle policies of "cutting crime, supporting business and reducing bureaucracy and City Hall waste". I'm sure that would appeal to her core vote, and not much further!

Re: Tory no-hopers (#8)

I particularly like the manifesto pledge on the first page of her site that she will "Cut the Cost of Ken from its present £290 a year". Blimey! If that's all Ken costs, we should buy two of him! (What *is* she on about?)

Re: Andrew . . . Who? (#5)

This list of candidates really is a joke! Do they really think any of them stand a chance?

I'm not a Londoner so I can't vote in Dave's primary, but I'd recommend that if youdo vote, then just vote for Boris.

He's a bigger clown than any of them and he'll show Dave's compassionate conservatives for the toffs they really are. He doesn't stand a chance against Ken.

However, ideally don't bother voting. The fewer votes the Tories get in this primary the more it makes the Tories look like a joke and it will show that the people of London couldn't care less about Tories.

Re: Andrew . . . Who? (#6)

I'm rather looking forward to Boris v Ken.

Livingston is already doing his homework, a worried man perhaps?

Re: Andrew . . . Who? (#7)

Good suggestion, don't vote at all; boycot it.

Re: Andrew . . . Who? Victoria . . . . WHO? (#9)

But don't you love the idea that whilst radio & television are falling over themselves to disassociate themselves from premium line usage, theTories use it as a fund-raising scam. Pay £1.50 to support Barmy Boris - I think not....
