Re: Tony & Hilary Benn - part 2 of 8 (#1)

this seems to be Part 1......

Re: Tony & Hilary Benn - part 2 of 8 (#2)

Nah, definitely follows on from the other. I'm enjoying this!

Re: Tony & Hilary Benn - part 2 of 8 (#3)

Maybe I clicked wrong button......Bennites for benn!

Socialist heart devastated (#4)

Dear Comrades I am enjoying tony's contribution. But I am still feeling gutted. I don't know why but I feel as if a political hero of my mine has gone to the dark side!! Wiseman

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#5)

John - I don't think that's a logical response! They're a close family and it would be rather odd if Tony didn't want his son to do well; it's not as if the deputy leadership election is the most ideological of all time, anyway.

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#6)

Also John - I'm trying desperately hard not to be too openly critical of Cruddas, because I know comrades like you who are keen he does well - but the idea that somebody like Tony would be (could be!) 'going to the dark side' just because they aren't supporting the likes of Cruddas is a bit of a nonsense.

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#7)

Leadership elections make strange bedfellows. Corbyn and Skinner are supporting Benn

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#8)

Wiseman, I am still feeling REALLY gutted about Cruddas and Trickett's behaviour over the leadership so frankly Tony Benn backing his son in this contest is not a tragedy. HB isn't "dark side" He doesn't fib and doesn't fudge. He doesn't grandstand as left and then backstab, either.I think he comes across as a pretty decent guy. Let's not pretend Cruddas is some sort of knight on a white charger.Whatever he thinks, he would have been in a far stronger position if he'd helped the left get on the ballot and debate with Brown too. And no I wouldn't mention it again but I'm sick and tired of you going on about Cruddas as though he's Gandhi/Tony Benn/Keir Hardie rolled into one.

Reality check (#9)

I didn't mention Kier Hardy. I just meant Cruddas was good as:- Marx Benn Bevan Heffer Tom Paine Tolpuddle Martyrs Scargill Ken Gill Hugh Scanlon Engels just to menion a few out of a million I could think of. Wiseman

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#10)

and i forgot Liverpool favourite trade unionist Jack Jones

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#11)

In this game you must have a sense of humour Wiseman

Re: Socialist heart devastated (#12)
