Re: Junior Ministers appointed (#1)

So Timms had been moved to the Business and co Department. Primarolo is now at Health.
Lord Adonis is at Children, School and Families. And Hodge is still in government.

Re: Junior Ministers appointed (#2)

Good to see Joan Ruddock back in government. Can't believe my MP (Siobahn Mcdonagh) stayed in government, she didn't even nominate Brown.

Re: Junior Ministers appointed (#3)

Amazed that the likes of Tom Watson, Wayne David and Mark Tami have been rewarded for been involved in the September coup against Blair?  I wonder if any journalist's will ask Mr Brown about Tom Watson's return to Government.  Also is Joan Ruddock not 100% opposed to nuclear weapons and nuclear power?  Will be most interesting to see how she squares that if there are upcoming votes.  How many actual new faces have been brought in to the junior ministeral ranks?  It does seem that their has been alot of job swapping.  The key question will be how the whips manage those MP's that have not been promoted, many will think that this was their last chance and once you rebel once it becomes a habit.

Re: Junior Ministers appointed (#4)

"Also is Joan Ruddock not 100% opposed to nuclear weapons and nuclear power? "

yes, she was one of the Tridents' rebels

"many actual new faces have been brought in to the junior ministeral ranks?"

there're some new faces...at first sight (including those who have been broght in again after having been ministers in the past, but not in the last version of Blair's government), I can see Angela Eagle (a return), Kitty Ussher, Helen Goodman, Jane Kennedy (a return), Mark Tami, David Wayne, Tom Watson (a return),  Meg Hillier, Barbara Fallett, Ann Keen, Joan Ruddock (a return), Shahid Malik, Iain Wright, Sadiq Khan and Alison Seabeck

Re: Junior Ministers appointed (#5)

Good to see Joan Ruddock back. She managed Harriets campaign for DL.

Sadiq Khan and Shaid Malik will be great as role models. The only group now not represented in Parliament is a young Asian woman. This will soon be addressed by the good constituents of Ealing Southall.

Re: Junior Ministers appointed (#6)

Young Asian women?  I doubt it.  By making Ealing Southall an open list the Labour party has all but effectively put two fingers up to both Sonika Nirwal and Jasbir Anand.  It's a sad sad day (once agan) for race equality in the Labour party.
