OK, who's voted for who?

Or should that be "whom"? I can never remember.

I guess most of us will have recieved our ballot papers now and many of us will have voted. Who's voted who?

In a follow up to the amazingly popular "Current Voting Intentions" thread, here's a place to post who you DID vote for.

Please only post if you have voted - either online or by telephone or have actually posted the ballot paper).

GlassHouse voted for (in order of preference)

1. Johnson
2. Benn
3. Blears
4. Harman
5. Hain
6. Cruddas

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#10)

I voted Blears Cruddas Johnson but now the election's over (as it will be for most on this site) wasn't it rubbish!

It felt like a really fatuous promotion exercise including flirting with the boss (but why did we have to watch?).

If that is the standard of political commitment perhaps we need a rethink about the role. It really was an awful waste of time. I was worried that a 'leadership election' might tear the party apart. The deputy leadership has been more akin to being licked to death.

Perhaps a booby prize is needed (6th place goes to Siberia - actually lets mince them as cat food)

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#11)

Yes it was rubbish, yes we should have had a leadership contest, yes I've voted now can we get on with politics.......

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#12)

Well said grim

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#18)

boring

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#47)

'boring' is a little harsh, but yes, the whole debate was somewhat tedious.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#13)

1. Benn
2. Hain
3. Harman

As unenthusiastic as I can ever remember being about an internal Labour election. Don't know if I voted the right way. Don't really care. It's done now.

Dunc

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#14)

It appears I could vote. So I voted: 1)Cruddas, 2)Hain, 3)Harman, 4)Benn, 5)Johnson, 6)Blears

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#15)

I voted 1. Johnson, 2. Benn. I have to agree with many of the other comments on here saying the deputy leadership election has been a embarrassment. Just think all the candidates still have to appear on Question Time, what will they say or do to make us cringe then? The irony would be if Mr Brown decides to appoint Jack Straw as DPM, then this whole exercise has been pretty pointless.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#25)

If Gordon crowns Jack as his DPM, I will laugh my head off.Serve all them right for being so subservient......oh, nice to see Gordon taking note of our thoughts on Iraq....don't say I didn't warn you.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#26)

Jack Straw's going to be made chancellor.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#16)

1. Cruddas
2. Harman
3. Benn
4. Hain
5. Johnson
6. Blears

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#17)

From the responses it looks like voting is all over the place. So it's anybody's race.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#50)

Although it appears more than likely that ...4 Benn 5 Blears and 6 Hain, will come bottom of the poll.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#55)

I somehow doubt that LabourHome is representative

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#19)

1. Johnson 2. Hain

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#20)

I just missed the deadline for the contest, but would have voted, 1) Cruddas 2) Benn 3) Blears 4) Johnson 5) Harman 6) Hain

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#21)

despite what the bookies are saying, if Hazel can get past the first round, she'll do well, she's picking up many 2nd and 3rd preference votes.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#22)

1)Cruddas 2)Blears No preference given for any of the others.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#23)

Does the ballot not close on the 22nd June?

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#31)

In both the student and individual papers: 1). Cruddas 2). Benn 3). Harman 4). Johnson 5). Hain 6). Blears

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#24)

1) Cruddas 2) Harman

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#27)

1)Cruddas 2) Benn 3) Blears 4) Harman 5) Johnson 6) Hain

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#28)

1.Harman 2. Hain 3. Cruddas

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#29)

1.Harman 2.Cruddas 3.Benn 4.Hain 5.Johnson 6.Blears JKleft - let it go, Blears is going out in the first round. She hasn't gots a cats chance.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#30)

what's your basis for this?

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#35)

The basis is that Hazel came bottom of polls of party members and the general public, that she only just scraped enough nominations to be on the ballot paper, and that only 36 CLPs nominated her.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#48)

And if by some miracle Blears does manage to knock Hain into last place - for he will surely be next to her at the bottom of the pile - she'd need to pick up virtually all of his seconds to knock the next person out!

All her 'second and third choices' would only count once all those first choices have been eliminated!

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#32)

Well I voted the following: 1. Cruddas And that was it!! Was going to vote for Harman second and Hain third but judging from the election addresses it was only Cruddas that appeared to have a radical agenda.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#33)

1.Cruddas 2.Harman 3.Benn 4.Hain 5.Johnson 6.Blears I liked Blears, but from what I saw, she tended to say the same thing over and over, as did Johnson with the Batman thing and his wanting to be the new Prescott.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#34)

Home/work straw poll: 1.Benn 2.Hain 3.Harman 4.Blears 5.Cruddas 6.Johnson____1.Harman 2.Benn 3.Blears 4.Johnson 5.Hain 6.Cruddas____1.Blears 2.Harman 3.Johnson 4.Cruddas 5.Benn 6.Hain____1.Benn, 2.Harman, 3.Cruddas

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#36)

Still waiting for my UNISON papers. But for my Labour ones: 1 Hain, 2 Benn, 3 Blears, 4 Cruddas, 5 Johnson, 6 Harman. What are the bookies saying now?

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#37)

I'm sitting here with my party and Amicus ballot papers seriously contemplating putting them all at number 6. Never seen such an uninspiring choice in my life. There is not one of them who will seriously stand up to Gordon Brown on behalf of the movement. Will probably not spoil my ballot paper as long as I can find a pin.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#39)

I think there has eventually got to be a shift of power to the movement because, our leaders should be servants of the Party, not the other way around. It means finding a DL who can challenge the diktats of the Executive, when they are obviously in the wrong, and force a change of policy on them.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#38)

As a leading member of Amicus I ask that you support cruddas followed by Harman (T&GWU) as all members of unite Thanks Wiseman

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#40)

My ballot paper remains uncompleted despite my best efforts to get enthused about one of them. There is no choice. Straw will be Deputy PM.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#41)

1. Cruddas 2. Benn 3. Harman 4. Hain 5. Johnson 6. Blears I think Cruddas is utterly insincere and will veer rightwards if elected, but at least he's not a Blairite minister and made left-wing noises before some of the candidates jumped on the bandwagon.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#42)

Harman.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#43)

1) Cruddas

2) Blears

3) Benn

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#44)

All 9 votes cast between myself and my partner were 1) Blears 2) Johnson 3) Benn - had to be convinced to go to 3 and absolutely no chance I was taking any responsibility whatsoever for helping any of the other 3 get elected.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#45)

my Unite and Unison ballots arrived - and both were sent in for Benn, Johnson, Cruddas, Blears, Harman, Hain in that order.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#46)

1, Cruddas
2, Hain
3, Benn
4, Harman
5, Johnson
6, Blears

If Cruddas gets in the top three i will be chuffed in all fairness. The guy has done excellent to even get himself noticed and has led the debate. If you are the member who delivering leaflets, attending drafty branch and clp meetings and doing street surgeries- Cruddas is the person you would want to help you and make you want to do it.

None of them will have any real policy making power (although i think Hain has come forward with some excellent ideas on electoral reform and the like) so it is vital we make this role a party role. Increasing members, and strengthening CLP's is what we need. Not another disconnected 'on message' politician who will have two cabinet roles as well. Jon Cruddas fills this role the best and understands the role the best.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#51)

Even if Cruddas loses, he has put his name out there, and he has a good chance at the deputy leadership/leadership in years to come, or has a good shot for the cabinet one day.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#52)

He's going to win! :-)

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#49)

I'm waiting for JR to say how he's voted so I can put them in reverse order :-)

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#54)

Let me guess it's:
1)Cruddas
2)Harman
3)Hain
4)Benn
5)Blears
6)Johnson
?

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#53)

I voted for Alan Johnson as my top choice and I'm feeling fairly confident that he'll win it - but it will be close between him and Benn.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#56)

1) Hazel Blears. Courage to stand up for the Government’s record warts and all. Great pedigree in the Public Sector and passionate about the Party and it’s ability to change lives for the better. Will provide the authentic voice of the grass roots activists at the Cabinet table.
2) Alan Johnson. In my view wasted merely as Deputy Party leader but may well be elevated to Deputy PM. I foy have an effective Party Chair, they can deal with those internal issues. 3) Hilary Benn.

Wishy washy, but has been quietly effective at Overseas Development refusing to be shuffled across as he is committed to the cause.
4) Harriet Harman. Incompetent in the front line and far too close to Brown. Part of the briefing against Blair and husband Jack Dromey was the whistleblower on the Peerages non scandal. 5) Jon Cruddas.

Populist idiot. Blairite turned “radical” when he saw the chance to make a name for himself.
6) Peter Hain. Recent NS interview was a total disgrace, grandstanding to portray himself as a closet Socialist all along whilst making stupid assertions about Blair’s motivations.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#57)

Have just voted online (I know left it to the last minute!) as follows:

1. Johnson
2. Hain
3. Benn
4. Blears
5. Cruddas
6. Harman

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#58)

I voted (in order of preference):-

1. Hain
2. Harman
3. Blears
4. Benn
5. Johnson
6. Cruddas

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#59)

Have used my three votes (Unite, GMB and BLP) to allocate a primary vote for Cruddas, Hain and Harman.

Massively disappointed in the contest; primarily because none of the candidates will have any internal/Cabinet credibility.

Exercise in futility is a phrase that springs to mind...

On a related point I'm thinking of joining the Lib Dems on the sly so I can still have a vote on who might be a future 'Laberal' Cabinet Minister(s).

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#60)

1. Benn 2. Cruddas. 3. Thin air.

Re: OK, who's voted for who? (#61)

1. Benn
2. Hain
3. Harman (members vote)
3. Johnson (SERA vote - swapped 3 and 4 in members vote)
5. Cruddas

Wouldn't even give Blears a vote, despite my CLP giving her a Supporting Nomination and my MP nominating her.
