I don't suppose the questions will depend on election results tomorrow...

Re: CRUDDAS AND BLEARS: Post your questions here (#2)

My question for Hazel and Jon is the same as the one you asked Hilary on my behalf. His answer, perhaps paraphrasing a little, was that he is in favour of devolution of decision-making to the lowest practical level, which as you will guess from the tone of the question, is the one I hoped to hear. Anyway, the question is: what role do they see for English city-regions? Could they see them taking a significant role away from Westminster as a focus for decision-making and accountability for economic development and public service provision, even including health, education and criminal justice? Could this create a far better democratic climate for people to join and participate in the party, and politics generally?

Re: CRUDDAS AND BLEARS: Post your questions here (#3)

My questions are:
  1. What extra value can they specifically add to Brown's thoughts by becoming his deputy?
  2. Specifically to Hazel - what extra value has she added so far as Party Chair?
  3. Can they convince Brown to win back "middle England" by increasing the threshold of Inheritance Tax to a million pounds (ie effectively abolishing it for everyone up to the middle classes) and then hiking its rate from the current 40% to 80% straightaway so that the biggest source of our social injustice (of toff kids starting life in a pole position) may be effectively curtailed?
