Comments I am deleting

I'm keeping a list here of all the comments I delete. I have no intention of maintaining this in perpetuity. I have faith that most of the writers will stick to an unwritten code if it is made a little clearer.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#1)

Are you serious...............THANK GOD.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#2)

ironically, one of them is yours jkitleft. please don't libel George Galloway on these pages. I've been in court with him once, don't want to be there again.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#3)

Well, well, well...

Hmmmmmmmm...

I'm not sure about this Hilton. I mean, I suppose that in case a post is clearly libellous, you should remove it - especially if it concerns Galloway, he can be harsh...

Having said that I hardly think you were right to remove the post I sent Loz... he spoke to me in rather high-tempered terms... The post about Lord Levy I guess you can remove - we all know what he is!

Re: Comments I am deleting (#4)

Not sure this is helpful, Mikael.  Alex edits the site and has every right to moderate it if he wants; the cutting seems pretty even-handed at the moment.

I think chilling would not be a bad move from everyone right now.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#5)

Well I supopose... at any rate just read my comment on RedFlaggers thread!

Re: Comments I am deleting (#6)

The light-touch editorial policy was starting to break down. I realise this is going to piss some people off but this isn't a private forum, it's a public space and the Tories are looking in here and laughing at us.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#7)

With you all the way Alex - it would be nice if we get back to debating ideas and policy and not petty micro-personal politics.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#8)

I'm with Alex on this. It is entirely correct to delete certain types of comment. There is a difference between moderation (good) and censorship (bad).

Re: Comments I am deleting (#9)

How about having a look at the Virginia Tech' condolences thread- seems to have fallen into a typically disgusting slanging match.

Re: Comments I am deleting (#10)

i'm not sure it was such a good idea of me to start the thread now.............
