Wanted: a Labour Federer to win Wimbledon for Labour

Wimbledon Labour Party is looking for its own Roger Federer type.  During 1997 and 2001 Labour won Wimbledon only to lose it like many others in May 2005. Only a 2.5% swing is needed to bring the seat back to Labour.

Wimbledon is a winnable Labour seat on a 2.5% swing to Labour.  The sitting Tory MP is right wing and pro fox hunting and has a majority of less than 2,500.  The previous Labour MP is not standing so as a key London marginal we are looking for a candidate of the highest motivation and team building skills to represent us.

Uniquely Wimbledon is a well resourced Party with its own freehold headquarters in the heart of the town and resources to employ a full-time organizer.  Traditionally the left of centre vote in Wimbledon was split between the Labour Party, the Liberals and the Greens. In 1997 and 2001 we proved that we could unite the left of centre vote to beat the Tories.  We believe we can do it again.

Those who feel they have the qualities to fight and win this seat back are invited to send their cv and application by Friday March 26th at the latest on two sides of A4 to the secretary: shirley.pritchard@blueyonder.co.uk or post: 85 Clarence Road, London SW19 8QB
