The future of climate change.

Last winter was the second warmest winter on record with a mean of 5.47 degrees. With January averaging 6 degrees which  makes this the second warmest January since records began in 1914. The south of England as defined by the met Office was the warmest on record at a mean temperature of 6.53, and whilst it has been very wet in the south of England. Rain fall has not broken any records.

Ban Ki-moon secretary general of the UN is considering the possibilities of calling a new climate summit; to form the basis of a second Kyoto climate change conference.  This at the urging of United Nations Environmental Programme, and is to discuss climate change at a high level meeting. This would lay the groundwork for a post Kyoto, as the current protocol expires in 2012.

What  do you think the Parameters for such a meeting/summit should be ? This is an open thread on the post Kyoto era. What should come next? Or are we making heavy weather of climate change?
