Bloggers: Who backs who in the Deputy leadership contest

Paul then adds: I couldn't find any blogger who has come out in favour of Harriet Harman. When I first posted this I had thought Recess Monkey was planning to back her but I have since been corrected on this point (see comments.) Sitting on the fence, but leaning towards either Benn, Blears or Johnson, is British Spin, while Tom Watson appears to be flirting with either Johnson or Cruddas.

Incidentally Alex Hilton runs Hilary Benn's blog so there is another blogger who has nailed their colours to the mast.

Bloggers: Who backs who in the Deputy leadership (#1)

More and more I'm leaning towards Johnson.

I was quite keen on Benn for a while, but I dont think he'll get the MPs votes.

I liked Cruddas's focus on party renewal, but I've become convinced that a lot of it is just a palatable way on saying 'tack left'

So, yeah - you can put me down as a Johnson supporter

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#2)

I don't think I can fit into these categories as I've not made up my mind yet.

I'm thinking either Harman or Blears but could look elsewhere yet.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#3)

Harman? Why?

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#6)

Well... because I think she'd be a good candidate. We're already going to have one boring old man as leader - we don't need another one as deputy.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#8)

I don't think any of the people in the deputy race are boring.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#10)

I do.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#11)

And your reponse to that is to vote Harman? I don't understand your logic at all. She's useless.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#13)

In your opinion perhaps, but other people can think differently if they so choose.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#14)

Don't be like that. I'm not saying you're not allowed another opinion.

I simply stated mine and asked what you see in her

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#15)

Well you said "I don't understand your logic. She's useless" and this is attacking my opinion. I think she's a good candidate - good personality, not afriad to face the media and give opinions and she's a woman - and I think it would be good to have a female DPM.

Re: Bloggers: Who backs who (#4)

Benn.

"Who backs WHOM" (#5)

Re: "Who backs WHOM" (#7)

I'll back anyone who isn't a grammar snob....

Re: "Who backs WHOM" (#12)

I wasn't thinking of running anyway.

Re: "Who backs WHOM" (#9)
