Clegg wins Lib dem Leadership

Cameron clone 'calamity' Clegg has narrowly won the Lib Dem leadership.

Given that they have already ruled out working with the Tories, how do you think this will change the electoral map?

With the Lib Dems and Tories converging, is it time for Labour and Brown to lay out a distinct bold Labour agenda, rather than pandering to the same centre ground?

Re: Clegg wins Lib dem Leadership (#1)

I think Clegg's going to drag the LibDems to more of a right-wing direction which can only be good for us.

If the LibDems join with the Tories in a coalition after the next GE, their voters will never forgive them.

Good god I agree with NM on his last comment...

I have reason to believe Davey will get the Environement brief, which is his first mistake.

Re: Clegg wins Lib dem Leadership (#4)

looks like my scource was talking shite, Davey's got Foreign Affairs!!

Re: Clegg wins Lib dem Leadership (#2)

The key factor could be whether Clegg appeals in the South/South East, making it easier for Lib Dems to hold off Tory challenges in seats they hold and helping Labour incumbents by keeping Tory votes down. If the Tories have to put more resources into Con/LD marginals that can only be good for us.
