Barbaric Treatment

Vicious treatment of British school teacher, Gillian Gibbons.

I think the treatment of British school teacher, Gillian Gibbons, shows why millions of Muslims clamour to escape from barbaric, mediaeval regimes such as that in the Sudan, in order to live in a benevolent and free Western Society.

The very fact that an elderly woman can be threatened with 40 lashes for such an innocent action shows the fundamental incompatibility between Islamic and Western values.

The treatment of women in these Middle Eastern and African cultures is totally abhorrent, and I wonder whether the same brutish punishment would be threatened if a man had been accused.

For pity’s sake, it was only a teddy bear and his name was chosen by innocent school kids. That evil can be read into such an innocent action illustrates the twisted ideology of the mullahs involved in this outrage.

By the way - Mohammed is the second most popular name in England - I think that makes a mockery of this latest piece of Islamic nonsense.

And a second By the way - Are all the children who chose the name Mohammed to be lashed as well?

I hope our Government are moving heaven and earth to obtain the release of this British subject, and I hope they make it perfectly clear that should a hair of her head be harmed, or so much as a little finger laid on her, then the repercussions will be very, very serious.

Re: Barbaric Treatment (#1)

Being 54 hardly makes her "an elderly woman"

Re: Barbaric Treatment (#5)

Nor apparently wiser. She should have researched the intense situation over Islam and any representation of the Prophet, neither visually or any slights. She's rather lucky to have got off with such a light sentence. She should humbly accept it and keep quiet. Its the Law of the Land. Over here Muslims should obey the Law of the Land and not stir up religious hatred on purpose, by going about their religious business unobstusively, not deliberately drawing attention to themselves, and let the rest of us get a bit of peace and quiet for a change. Not too much to ask.

Re: Barbaric Treatment (#2)

The treatment of this poor woman is absolutely vile. She went out there to help kids far poorer than any over here and yet she gets treated worse than a murderer would over here.

Re: Barbaric Treatment (#3)

Says it all

Re: Barbaric Treatment (#4)

As the furore about the terrible teddy goes from the sublime to the ridiculous, it has now escalated to the point of slavering, bloodthirsty mobs of nutters rampaging through the streets of Khartoum demanding that a middle aged school teacher be put to death.   How very civilised!

The poor teddy bear must also be shaking in his little cotton socks.  Could he be the next for execution or will he simply have one paw amputated? His fate is in the hands of the sensible, level headed religious leaders in Sudan.

I’m afraid these totally over the top demonstrations of feigned outrage do Islam  no favours at all.

Moderate British Muslims (who, by the way, have a very popular teddy of their own called Adam) must be dismayed that another PR disaster has jumped up to grab them by the throat.
