How would the right respond to another defeat?

Some in the Conservative Party would want to reject Cameronism and lurch right. But how many times can they try that. The only sensible response would be to deepen the Cameron project, not abandon it. And this matters to the centre-left, because political change is embedded if you convert your opponents and shift the centre-ground of politics. http://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/articles/future-of-conservatism

That's right, as granny used to say: "You can count on Conservatives to be chickens."

Kidding.

I do think that David Cameron being Tory leader is a good thing for the country (as long as he's in opposition). The Tories coming to terms with a more left-leaning liberal country is good for us too.

I don't get why some people on this site seem to hate him more than other Conservative leaders...
