Tory lead in MORI poll!

A new Ipsos MORI poll in this morning's Sun shows the Tories 3 points ahead of Labour.  To be honest I was expecting it to be a lot worse.  Thou I guess we will have to wait for more polls to see the full effects of the shambles of this last week.

Full details of the poll can be found at this link:

Newsnight has a poll by ICM that is not happy reading for Mr Brown.

Brown 'spins as much as Blair':

Re: Tory lead in MORI poll! (#1)

As ever, this poll is weighted by certainty to vote. Tory voters are always more keen than Labour ones. If we could persuade those who identify with Labour to say they are 10/10 certain to vote instead of 7/10 then we would have a permanent and healthy lead!

Re: Tory lead in MORI poll! (#2)

A 3%! lead? you would have expected more than that! Things are not so bad then for Labour. Brown will recover his composure and Labour its lead in the polls before Spring 2008. The latest 'borrowings' from Opposition policy is welcome; an emphasis on marriage and rewarding married couples by tax breaks, it shows enough committment to enter into a legal contract and give legitimacy to their offspring. Most welcome! although it still needs the full backing of the Govt. The slide began in the 80's when rights of co-habitees were being recognised by Lord Denning and his courts, but in retrospect, it was a mistake. Its one of the factors that have led to a breakdown in society. Couples have to make that legal committment to secure their rights, and its good for familiies that they do make that committment..

Re: Tory lead in MORI poll! (#3)

3% only in a Sun poll? Probably within the margin of error....

The questions were leading too...

This proves we can come back fighting.

Re: Tory lead in MORI poll! (#4)

Well sadly i will not be voting, I've never voted Tory so when Labour comes back to Labour policies I'll vote again.
