In an older thread, someone asked to put up a by-elections section....waiting for better information, I tried to do something with the info available on the net.

Labour had a good result in Manfield and Rossendale and they did ok in Gateshead too.
The Scottish result was pretty bad though.

Next week's by-election in Shelthorpe (Charnwood BC) can be interesing: it's a marginal Lab ward over the tories in a marginal constituency (Loughborough)

Labour held the Shelthorpe ward in Charnood. BNP finished second with the tories pushed in thid place.

Labour also gained the Ellesmere Port and Neston DC ward from the tories.

The Libdems held the Eden ward

A good night for Labour overall
