Well, after day one of the conference, one thing we can be sure of is that control freakery is not dead. There is absolutely no chance that, those who are more equal than the majority, are going to tolerate any dissent over the Trident issue.
If Labour members can't have the promised debate at conference, where exactly can they have it? 59% of the public oppose Trident, so members, unlike the executive, could hardly be called out-of-touch.
