Emergency Motion to Annual Conference (via CLPD)
Conference notes that Contemporary Motions have been submitted by some 17 CLPs, asking that this Conference be given an opportunity to discuss the Party leadership issue. Conference further notes that the Conference Arrangements Committee has ruled that these motions were out of order.
Conference believes that this vital issue should be considered by this Conference, the Party's sovereign body, and therefore asks the CAC and National Executive Committee to timetable appropriate motions that will allow this to take place."
I have also heard that the CAC has ruled out of order about 140 contemporary motions (including all those on the leadership, Trident, housing and Iraq). Only about 70 motions are ruled in. The CAC meets again on Friday and may rule a few more in order but it doesn't look good.
