Will Clare Short do a Paul Marsden and join the Lib Dems?

Speculation is rife that Clare Short is about to cross the floor and join up with the Lib Dems for the remainder of this parliament.

I do hope that this turns out to be nothing more than pure speculation but having heard Clare on the today programme earlier this morning I would not be completely surprised!

Clare Short (#1)

It seems she wants PR...isn't it easier to campaign to get more MPs to support it?
How can she campaign for a "hung Parliament"? Voters can write down "hung parliament" on their ballot papers.

I also don't think that joining the Libdems is solution for disillusioned left wing Labourites....not sure how much she agrees with Nick Clegg, David Laws and the rest of Orange Bookers.

Re: Will Clare Short do (#2)

I already posted it in the other thread about Short, but maybe here it's better.

The Chief Whip has has already referred her conduct (re her piece in the Indy) to the party chair and the general secretary of the Labour Party.
As much as I disagree with Smith's yellow cards and similar things and I think rebel MPs can voice their opinions, Clare Short has gone a step too far IMO. She practically advocated Labour MPs losing their seats, so I think it's right to take disciplinary actions against her.

Naturally taking actions against her will just suit her, because they would give her stences more free attention

Re: Will Clare Short join the Lib Dems? (#3)

No its very likely that Clare will set up on her own or join Galloway's Respect. The two were absolutely made for each other.

Re: Will Clare Short join the Lib Dems? (#4)

She already has Respect links - her sister Eileen Short is Respect organiser in Tower Hamlets
