This morning the Electoral Commission has published the accounts of all parties whose income or expenditure is above £250,000.
All accounts are as of 31 December 2005
The Conservative Party has a deficit of £14.999m. Creditors due within one year total £16.802m and after one year total £14.522. This totals £31.324. Membership has risen but no figure is given in the acounts.
The Labour Party's memebrship stands at 198,026. This is a fall of 3,348. There is a deficit of £14.5m. Loans payable within one year total £29.701m and creditors payable after one year total £5.799m. This totals £35.5m
The Liberal Democrats's membership stands at 72,032. This is a fall of 690. There is a deficit of £207,052. Creditors payable in one year total £358,513. After one year the total is £475,000. This totals £833,513.
