Racist Tory removed from Parliamentary selection list

Whatever Dave may say about his New Tories, it comes as little surprise to hear that a Conservative councillor and Parliamentary candidate has algedly forwarded a racist e-mail.

Not sure. On the one hand, it reinforces people's view of the Tories as a racist party. On the other hand, it reinforces people's impression of Cameron that he's willing to go up against those sort of people in his party.

Probably six and two threes - But I'd suggest that, for moderate people who are already keen on Cameron, his 'tough' action will make them like him more

yes, I agree.
It's like when Blair picked up "fights" with the Left in mid-90's, he just showed people that the leadership of the party has changed.
When Liz Davies was blocked as PPC, I suppose that "Middle England" former tory swing voters didn't think "Oh, there're left wing people in Labour Party", but "good, the leadership is getting rid of the loony leftists".

But there the comparison ends.  Liz Davies was a perfectly sensible candidate and no more "loony left" than a third of the PLP. This tory was a racist.  I think people should be careful when making these sorts of comparisons.

I didn't mean to compare Liz Davies' opinions with that tory women's opinions.
Just to point out that some voters can appreciate the leadership (in this case DC) acting in a "sensible" way.

I correct myself before being accused of thinking it was sensible to block LD.
I re-word the sentence: "Just to point out that some voters can appreciate the leadership (in this case DC) acting in a "tough" way to show they're changing"

I cross ocean, poor and broke,
Take bus, see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there,
Say I need to see welfare.
Welfare say, "You come no more,
We send cash right to your door."
Welfare checks, they make you wealthy,
Medicare it keep you healthy!
By and by, I got plenty money,
Thanks to you, Canadian dummy.
Write to friends in motherland,
Tell them 'come fast as you can.'
They come in turbans and Ford trucks,
I buy big house with welfare bucks
They come here, we live together,

No, I think we need to see the evidence for ouselves as to how low some people will stoop just to win. Thankfully, most intelligent minded Tories do not think like this. Cameron did the right thing and should be credited with acting swiftly to remove this vile person who seems to have more in common with the BNP than mainstream parties.
