Guardian limited.

This is cut from today's Guardian Unlimited. written by "Backbencher."

Is Alex Hilton selling out? The Backbencher only asks because the brain behind cutting-edge discussion site LabourHome. top posts today: "Influenza: prepared for an outbreak?" and "Objective won" ("Objective one in Cornwall has been a Labour success. Providing many benefits to the people of Cornwall. The programme will be completed at the end of this year 2006, and it will be interesting to see what the future for the local economy [sic].") - has got himself a PR. (
Now, the Backbencher can only guess what mainstream media exposure the 30-year-old is trying to obtain. But she learns that Alex is "advising senior New Labour figures on campaigning via new media". Which ones, Alex? There's no need to be coy.

There is an old political adage which says "Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel." Fortunately hypertext and pixels comes free and in infinite quantities. ..
This article was posted on the Guardian Unlimited website by "Backbencher". Read the first paragraph, it doesn't read. So no points thear then.
It also quotes me out of context, in an attempt to belittel Alex Hilton, Labourhome, and by inference myself. Needless to say that bird flu could well be one of the biggest issues to face the world in the near future, and urban regeneration in one of the most deprived areas in Europe is of great interest to those suffer it in their area wherever that may be. Again no points.
Over the last 12 years it had been my privilege to know many backbench MPs of all parties. The vast majority of them would be able to understand the complexityof these issues. Unfortunately the supposed "Backbencher" completely misses the point.

Re: Guardian limited. (#1)

The Backbencher has lost some wit and it's less interesting and funny than it used to be IMO. Maybe they're suffering from the loss of some colorfull MPs who used to involuntary give lots of stories for the column (like Helen Clarke from Peterborough)
