It's the old, "the conference I was at, was not the one the media reported on," line. Give us a break Iain; just about every delegate spins this line every year. The media wants drama - deal with it. In fact, haven't you been dining out on media fuelled tittle-tattle for the past twelve months?
Another thing that got me was the ludicrous references (4-times!) to the maturity of the Conservative Party. Come off it Iain; the Conservatives haven't been a mature political party for fifteen or twenty years. It'll take more than a few months of Camerooooonian style to paper over the real ideological division that fester below the new branding. Has anyone else begun to have an increasing affection for Lord Tebbit?
